How can guests join a call/meeting?

The following information applies to Cisco Meeting Server software version 2.3 and earlier:

If you have set up a Web Bridge, guests can join spaces via a web link which displays a "guest" login page. After they enter their name, the following action is taken based on the platform and/or browser:

  • on a Windows PC:
    • Google Chrome uses WebRTC natively. Refer to this FAQ for versions.
    • Mozilla Firefox: the Cisco Meeting Windows App launches if already installed. If the app is not installed, the user will be prompted to download the app (if configured by admin). 
    • Internet Explorer (IE9 or later): the Cisco Meeting Windows App launches if already installed. If the app is not installed, the user will be prompted to download the app(if configured by admin). 
  • on a Mac:
    • Google Chrome uses WebRTC natively. Refer to this FAQ for versions.
    • Apple Safari: the Cisco Meeting Windows App launches if already installed. If the app is not installed, the user will be prompted to download the app if configured by the admin.
  • on an iPhone or iPad:
    • Apple Safari: The app is launched if it is already installed. If not, the user will be prompted to download the app from the App store.
